About Us

The Robinson Street Medical Centre is located on the campus of the Camperdown Hospital; Dr. John Menzies has been consulting in Camperdown for more than 30 years.
We are an accredited training practice, affiliated with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine training schemes, and regularly host training doctors/medical students who have an interest in Rural Medicine. These students may occasionally sit in on consultations with your doctor, your co-operation with their training is greatly appreciated however, we will always ask for your consent prior to a consultation involving a third party and you are free to decline at any time by letting our receptionists or your doctor know.
About our consultations:
- Standard consults at the clinic are 15 minutes; if you think you will require more time with your GP please let our reception staff know when you book an appointment and we will be happy to accommodate your request. If you do not inform us of your needs, you may be asked by your GP to book another appointment to discuss any remaining issues.
- Telephone consults are only booked under special circumstances and at the discretion of our doctors, please speak to our reception staff about your options.
- Our practice seeks to run on time, but occasionally this is not possible for a multitude of reasons; your clinician may be attending an emergency at the hospital, treating a distressed or elderly patient who requires extra time, and many others. Our aim is always to provide the best possible care and we will endeavour to inform you of any delays and give you an opportunity to reschedule your appointment. Your patience and consideration is always appreciated.
- Further information on the types of appointments we offer can be found here.
